Relevant Scripture to read:

Titus 3:4–6

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Devotional questions for individual/family/group reflection and discussion:

  1. What kind of things are Christians sometimes tempted to be arrogant about? What are some ways that this harms our witness?

  2. If the Holy Spirit works in this way, how does that shape the way that we pray for others that do not know Jesus?

  3. The catechism answer mentions “all the gifts” that we receive through the Spirit - name a few of these gifts (besides the gift of faith mentioned here).
